Derrick Connor is a native of Batesville, Mississippi. He is a member of Mt. Gillion M. B. Church under the leadership of Dr. Walter Newson, Jr. and sings in the Sanctuary Choir. Derrick received his high school diploma in 2000 from South Panola High School in Batesville, Mississippi. He attended Northwest Community College in Senatobia, Mississippi from 2000 to 2002 majoring in Criminal Justice. Derrick received his certification in Athlete Management taught by Joel Corry, a former NBA, and NFL agent and under the direction and mentorship of Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, the President and Founder of Sports Management Worldwide. As an Agent Advisor for SMWW, Derrick has the knowledge and skills to prepare athletes for top-notch post career planning as well. His training included agent regulations and ethics, draft preparation, marketing and recruiting, collective bargaining agreements, contract negotiations, endorsements, sponsorships, and more. He is qualified to represent the interests of athletes and help them navigate successfully to obtain their dream of becoming a pro athlete. With strong convictions to help others, Derrick’s passion led him to start Connor Disaster Relief, a national disaster relief program that is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization, with a purpose to expand services throughout the United States, overseas, and surrounding communities, providing qualified individuals that are seeking help from severe storms, hurricanes, and other natural disaster situations beyond their control. The mission for this non-profit organization is to provide relief to people that have been affected by natural disaster situations. The goal is to provide perishable and non-perishable foods, water, clothing, financial education and relief resources to transition victims back to a better way of life.
