Biography

Described as a visionary and trailblazer, he has led the establishment and growth of many organizations and takes pride in helping people achieve their goals. He started his first corporation when he was 19 and has been involved in almost 75 different corporations over the last 25 years.

Giigidoh Ninii ('The man who speaks for the people') is Anishinabek and is from Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation, M'Chigeeng First Nation, and the Wikwemikong Unceded Territory. His educational background includes studying business at Lakehead University, accounting at Canadore College, political science at York University, and a variety of other business certifications from various schools.

Kevin has utilized his skills in business and politics as the President & CEO of Indigenous Tourism Ontario and as an elected official in M’Chigeeng First Nation. His work in tourism and business has had him travel around the world. Lifelong learning and helping others is a core philosophy of his, and he lives these philosophies every day. He has completed the SMWW Hockey Agent Course, Hockey Player Development Course, Hockey Video Performance Analysis w/ Catapult Course, the SMWW Agent Advisor exam, and is completing the Hockey GM & Scouting course. These SMWW courses, his other certifications, along with interesting lived experiences, have him positioned as a unique individual who often over-delivers to those who seek his help and advisory services.

Kevin has been involved in hockey for almost 45 years and gives back by volunteering on a variety of local, regional, provincial, and national boards, including the Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL), Science North, the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario (TIAO), and Sports Tourism Canada (STC). He has also served on the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) Board of Directors and was the President of the Manitoulin Islanders in the Tier II Jr. ‘A’ Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).

In addition, he has completed numerous coaching certifications with Hockey Canada and has coached at the AAA level. He has also served as President, Vice President, and Director of Player Development at the minor hockey level.

After playing forward for the Jr. ‘B’ Nipigon Elks in the Lakehead Junior Hockey League (LJHL) and with the Canadore College Panthers, he has moved on to helping others love the game of hockey. He has helped many players, including his daughter who played goalie and his son who plays defense. Kevin has been in rinks all across Ontario and has even been seen in rinks in Nashville, Las Vegas, Bolzano, and Prague.
