Darren Townes is a very talented and versatile who plays with a lot of energy and passion. He has an incredible work ethic and comes prepared to practice and play hard every day. He is a very coachable player who will do whatever is asked of him.

Offensively, Darren is very athletic and can play either the three or four position. He has very good strength and size and knows how to use his body to create scoring opportunities in the post. What makes Darren so special is his ability to shot with accuracy from 10-18 feet and his ability to but the ball on the floor and create scoring opportunities. When around the rim, Darren always looks to finish strong with either a dunk or drawing contact. Darren has very good footwork and is very effective at scoring down low in the post.

Defensively, Darren is a very disciplined defender. He really takes pride in playing defense and shutting down his opponent. His good size and strength allow him to defend players who are taller than him while his footwork and quickness allow him to defend smaller and quicker players. Darren is not afraid of contact and plays extremely physical.

He is an excellent rebounder who attacks the board with aggression. He is a smart defender who has a solid understanding of team defense and defensive schemes. He is a very good all-around defensive player who brings a great level of energy to the gym every day and he truly is a world-class teammate.
