I have know Derek for sometime I first took him to Mexico on a tour an got him a job in the city of Durango in the LNBP league where he establish himself as one of the better guards in the league from there he went to play in the Ciba copa league a 1 st diversion summer league where his team won the championship and he was voted MVP Derek is a hard worker and has a strong personality I have coached professional basketball for 13 years and in that time I have coached players going to the NBA and players coming down from the NBA and I can assure you Derek has a lot of talent I feel confident in my recommendation of this young man.

He's a rock. Capable of playing combo guard or combo forward, literally 1-4! He is the defensive backbone of a team on the wing. Tough, physical, aggressive, athletic, and as strong as anyone his size in the game. Offensively, he's good in transition, an excellent finisher, and can catch lobs, and finish plays above the rim. He's got the ball handling ability to create his own shot or operate in the pick and roll game, and cannot be left open on the perimeter. The neat thing about Derek is he can play and defend multiple positions. In today's game, where he has the fluidity and quickness to check guards and the strength and athleticism to mark forwards; it really helps a coach in the number of ways that he can defend in different situations and against diverse personnel. He barrels through screens, rebounds well, and is not afraid to get down and dirty when his club needs the ball. Any club would be happy to have him. Won at many levels and needs every game. He's the type, people will fear on the other team and respect in his own locker room.
